Battle For Azeroth

There has been many changes for World of Warcraft throughout the years. The simplicity of the game has turned a lot of hardcore gamers away. WoW subscriptions went from approximately 12 million to a measly 5 million. Why is this, exactly? What has changed about the game? What has caused realms that used to be popular to now have next to no people? Here are eight reasons, one reason for every expansion, that WoW has gone downhill.

Reason One: DPS(damage per second) players can, essentially, smash their faces against the keyboard and manage to pull an average DPS score.

Reason Two: Most professions(herbalism, mining, skinning) have been rendered USELESS! They do not make very much money and you do not obtain much of a profit.

Reason Three: The mechanics on most raid boss fights are simple. There is not very much thinking required. This leads back to the face smashing onto a keyboard.

Reason Four: It takes very little effort to gear up a character. As a personal example, I was item level 367 on my monk three days ago. My monk is now 380 after running a few mythic plus dungeons and going through a few raid bosses.

Reason Five: Leveling characters up is NOT fun in my opinion. You can get 10-15 levels in one hour by doing dungeons and battlegrounds. It is no longer a challenge.

Reason Six: Raid content does not take near as long as it used to. Back in the day, people would be stuck on bosses for weeks. Now, it takes a couple weeks to make it all the way through one difficulty and maybe just minutes to make it through one boss. Back in vanilla, you had to raid with 40 total people, now there are flex raids, which means that the hit points of the boss scales depending on how many people are in your raid.

Reason Seven: Back in the OG WoW, you could not have a mount(a companion you ride in order to make it from point A to point B faster than walking)until level 40. Now, you get a mount at level 20. Once again, no challenge

Reason Eight: The game has become EXTREMELY repetitive. We are seeing the same abilities done in a different way over and over. Especially in PvE(Player vs Environment) settings. Blizzard has run out of ideas, thus far, to reinvent the game and give it the boost it needs to get back on it's feet.

Can WoW survive? The game is not all bad. It has become easier to accomplish your goals. It is more convenient and a lot of people love convenience. Some of the raid bosses and dungeons bosses can be fun because they've had to come up with different ways to reinvent old abilities into something new(ish). It is easier to catch up with your buddies so you can do PvE or PvP content with them. From your own knowledge of the game let me know in the comments below if you think WoW can survive!
