This week in tavern brawl we have a Brawliseum. This is a mode where players are building constructed decks but the format of playing is like arena, maximum 12 wins and when you lose 3 games in your run it's over. First attempt is free and every other costs 150 same as arena and so are the rewards.

This time in Brawliseum we have a rule where every minion has stats 1/1 and costs 1 mana. Every minion, this includes those that are generated by spells and effect too. The only way to have larger minion is to buff them with some battlecries or buff spells.

After playing this tavern brawl for a couple of hours there was one thing that was obvious. The best class, by far I would say is Rouge. This is because of some cards that are so good with this ruleset that it's beyond fair to any other class. Elven Minstrel, Spirit of the Shark, Edwin VanCleef, and Shadowstep are all good in almost every situation you can possibly be in. Shadowstep and Spirit of the Shark go well together with battlecries and combos and because every minion is a 1/1 and only 1 mana, battlecry becomes so powerful on some cards like Bonemare, Alextrasza, and Fungalmancer.

Basically, by playing Rouge there is almost a 100% chance to win against any other class, so many players that I encountered from 3+ win are also Rogues. If you want to farm packs during this brawl just play Rogue. I'm not saying that this is guaranteed, but anything over 3 wins will at least give you a discount on the pack and everything around 7 wins will practically be a free pack. To have the best chances to farm packs I would suggest one of these two decklists:

#1 Tempo Rogue

The key cards of the deck are Bonemare, Fungalmancer, and every Rogue card, most notably Spirit of the Shark. There is no real strategy with this deck, play every draw cards you can to get your most valuable one that will buff your minion crazy fast and push for a fast win. Well, every game in this mode will mostly finish by turn 5-6 and sometimes you can even finish on turn 3-4 with this deck.

Mulligan for: Spirit of the Shark, Elven Minstrel, Fungalmancer, Bonemare

The plan is simple, get on board immediately and buff your minions with Bonemare and Fungalmancer, best targets to buff are Annoyo-trons from Giggling Inventor because of the divine shield value. The only card you should really take into consideration before playing is Onyxia. Yeah, it's nice to get 1 mana full board of 1/1s but that also prevents you from playing other minions before you trade one into the opponent, because of the quickness of this mode, one turn really matters a lot and you should be careful when playing it on an empty board. Best time to play it would be when your opponent also has minions in play that you can trade into. There is not that much more to this deck, but damn it is this one strong.

#2 Malygos Rogue

Even though Tempo Rogue might be a better deck, I like this one more, since there is an actual plan involved in the deck. Malygos getting double Faceless copied also gives so much satisfaction.

Mulligan for: Elven Minstrel, Witchwood Piper, Cursed Castaway, Arena Treasure Chest
If you are on the coin keeping Gadgetzan is also a good start.

What I like about this deck is the way you draw cards, with Witchwood Piper you always draw the cheapest minion from a deck, a that guarantees more draw, drawing Chest or Minstrel and if every draw card is already in your hand or played the next thing it will draw is Faceless Manipulator.

Elven Minstrel draws only minions and all of your minions are either more draw or a piece of a win condition.

Cursed Castaway draws only combo cards, which will draw you Minstrel or Eviscerate, both cards are really important, Minstrel for more draw and Eviscerate for burst with Maly.

Once again, this is a really fast mode and because of it there is no time for anyone to generate armor and this is important because our strategy involves bursting our opponent from X to zero. Also, Alextrasza is really powerful because it is often a 15 damage burst for 1 mana and this helps so much to close out the game.

Try those decks out in the current tavern brawl, at least take it for a spin with your first free attempt and get some free value out of it.

Thank you for reading!
