Jakarta International Velodrome located in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, is one of the prominent venue in Asian Games 2018.
Despite being world-class, Velodrome project construction within the narrow deadline provided by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is impossible. Due to similar development, in other countries, at least the process takes 36 to 48 months.
In the design shown, Velodrome will be like a modern world-class sports arena. Where in the cycling arena will be made multifunction with several other sports venues such as Badminton, Futsal, Wrestling, and so forth.
Velodrome complex will be made with a magnificent roof made of special, so that in circumstances and even heavy rain, light from outside can still enter without using the lighting from the inside. As for the 250 meter bike track using a special timber imported from Siberia built by ES Global, the famous British cycling company.
The so-called velodrome capacity can accommodate up to 3,000 people, built within the last two years and cost 40 million USD. In concept, Velodrome Jakarta brings the eco-friendly concept of stadium.
Various facilities have been prepared ranging from support difabel, security, air conditioning, to various purposes for athletes. No wonder if the stadium got the best certificate from UCI (International Bicycle Association).
The stadium itself will hold a bicycle race at the 2018 Asian Games event later. Six gold medal pieces will be contested from 26 to 31 August 2018.
