Greg Van Avermaet remains loyal to his current employer. He will become the leader of CCC in 2019, the procontinent team that takes over BMC's license. The yellow jersey from the current Tour de France is existing about his future.

After Andy Rihs past away few months ago, the bike manufacturer BMC made no secret that it wanted to take a step back as (main) sponsor, but it did everything to ensure the future of the team. With CCC, a Polish shoe and bag brand, it has found that continuity.

CCC has a history in cycling. Some doubtfull riders with a bad history as well.

CCC owner Dariusz Milek and BMC manager Jim Ochowicz signed an agreement on the rest day of the Tour de France for 2019. CCC has been a fixture in the peloton since 2006 and thanks to Continuum Sports take the step to the WorldTour.

"It is exciting news that we can immediately announce that Greg Van Avermaet has extended his contract with us," says Ochowicz. "He will be the star of our team for 2019."

A number of current BMC toppers will leave. Richie Porte, Rohan Dennis and Tejay van Garderen would leave the team according to the rumors.

Greg is a rider who tries to be good in April, July and end of season. The current Olympic golden metal winner will look for some extra riders to support him in the next year.
