Visiting 2018 USI World Championship in Innbsbruck ** my OWN pictures, my OWN stories ** - PART 2
Sooo in my last post, I've asked whether should I write part 2. Never even thought for a second someone will reply to me and actually read at least a bit of the text :D But @vivaultra surprised me so here I am with the 2nd part :) 1st part can be found HERE! Best place to watch the race Obviously this was a fight. And a tough one. People were waiting on them nice places from the very morning. And some of them were even smarter/luckier. They got into surrounding buildings and therefore had the best view from us all! The best decision one could make that day was probably pay 5euros (ca 6 dolars) for a ticket to go up to the city tower. That way, I doubt anyone had a better view that them :) Maybe people up in the mountains with the binoculars. Speaking of mountains, I realized in my last post a picture with mountains and square both in one picture was missing. So here it is: Fans As I'm not thaaat big cyclist fan, I was actually enjoying more the event itself than the race. Especially after Peter Sagan was no more racing. But the variety of fans made up for it. The fan-zones were all over the town. Interesting thing is, that despite the beer was being sold, I haven't seen a single one drunk fan. Kinda in contrast with e.g football worlds :D And as the race was getting closer and closer towards the finish. People just stopped walking totally. Everyone stopped near the closest caffeteria and was just watching who's gonna win. I'm not sure if it was mandatory for the restaurants to have exposed screens, but most of them did. Crossing the street? Well, good luck with that! It always took me good 15 minutes to get my turn. People literally had to wait in lines and turns to cross the street haha. I had no problem with it, but some people were getting pretty impatient. Especially my girlfriend :D She went to the city centre just for a coffee with her friend. And got stuck there for an extra hour :D Here our whatsapp :D And since I'm talking about the cycling championships, I feel I should add some extra pics of them guys racing right? Haha, here are some: Crazy September in Innsbruck And as I've mentioned in the 1st post, weather is really crazy! There was snow 2 days before the race, than the race happened during almost summer time and 23 degrees...and now, 2 days later, there's a FREAKING snow again!! :D Visit me!As you can see, Innbsruck is the most beautiful town in the world. I probably have just one more year here, soo if you want to visit me, make sure to hurry up :) Thx for reading :)))
