Hi Guys,

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the lack of updates lately but i have been traveling and catching up with work since my return which has left me a little burnt out. That being said a big dose of Motocross/ Supercross action will fix that! haha 😊

HRC contract extention for Cole Seely

So after a tough year with injuries for Cole Seely it seems that things are on the up! American Honda Motor. Co. have announced today that they have signed an extension with current Honda HRC Factory Rider Cole Seely for 2019. This will see him stay with team red for both the upcoming AMA Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series aboard the CRF450 R and will be his fifth year on the bike.

Seely started the year strongly and was no stranger to the front of the pack picking up his first win of the 2018 Supercross series in the newly showcased Triple Crown at Anaheim 2. This ended up earning him a second place overall and was showing the world that his speed was there. This pace built from that point and he continued to pick up three top fives and two top tens before a serious injury took him out of the series and out for the year.

He had a rough 2018 season where he suffered a fracture to his pelvis and tailbone and was even in a wheelchair for a few months. This led a lot of people to question if his heart would still be in it for racing. As was the case for his team mate Ken Roczen, when injuries are this severe then it would be perfectly normal for anyone to evaluate if they would want to continue down that career path. It seems Hondas faith in the rider has paid off though as it seems he is back to fitness and looking forward to racing again.

Erik Kehoe

Honda HRC Factory Racing Team Manager

"I'm looking forward to having Cole back with us for 2019. He had a tough year with his injuries, but as his recovery progressed, he became more eager and excited to get back to racing, which was great to see. We're confident in his ability to make his comeback and return to the podium. He's very talented and a huge asset to our team, so we're happy to continue our relationship."

"I'm really excited to be re-signing with American Honda. I have an awesome crew around me and we get along great, so I'm eager to get back to work with them. This past year was really rough, so to have a company like Honda continue to back me is amazing. It's one thing to have brand loyalty as a rider, but to have rider loyalty as a brand is saying something huge. This will be my 10th season on a Honda! I'm excited for 2019 but am trying to take things slow and easy right now so I can build myself up and not rush the process. We have started to do some testing though so it's been fun getting back into the mix."

It also seems Honda HRC will not be taking part in this years Monster Energy Cup this year which shows how seriously they intend to take this years Supercross series!

Jake Weimer - Final bow

So it's with a heavy heart that Jake Weimer has announced his retirement from professional racing after thirteen years at the highest level. That being said he has ticked more off his todo list than many in his time racing such as representing team USA and a championship title in the Monster Energy Supercross series. Injuries have taken their toll over the last few years though amongst other setbacks and this season was probobally one of his toughest.

Jake Weimer

"They say all good things come to an end. I'm so thankful for the career I had. I accomplished some things that I had never thought of and had a long career (13 years). One thing I'm very proud of is that no matter the result I always worked hard and gave it my all! I was able to travel the world racing and meet so many great people and life-long friends. I want to thank everyone that ever gave me an opportunity and believed in me. I thought long and hard about when it was time to hang up the boots and the simple answer is one day I just knew. I'm excited for the future and what's next in my life. I have some fun opportunities that are coming in the near future that will allow me to still be involved with motorcycles. I will still be around and go to some races and I will continue to ride. My love for motorcycles and the sport has not changed. I want to thank all of my fans throughout my career. You guys have really shown me love and that truly does mean a lot. THANK YOU!"

It's never a nice thing to say goodbye to a rider who you have enjoyed watching over the years but these guys ride hard and their careers are never a long one. Such is the burden and trials of many sports the good comes with the bad but now he can enjoy the next chapter in his life.Thank you for the good times and countless stand out moments you have shared with us Jake and i wish you the best in whatever your heart leads you to next.
