Once again this weekend shows how safe today's race cars are. Race driver Sheena Monk had a huge crash at this weekend's Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at Laguna Seca.
3 laps before the end of the race she crashed at the famous Corkscrew (one of the most legendary corner combinations in the world.) and hit the barrier at full speed after her brakes failed causing the racecar to go airborne. The good news is that Monk was awake and alert. However, she was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
it is a miracle she survived this horrible crash.
