The summer Olympics of 24 July to 9 August 2020 will include skateboarding for the first time in history. As you might now this year the Olympics will take place in Japan, Tokyo.

Since this is the first year its added to the Olympics, there is no guarantee it is there to stay. But that didn't stop kids in Japan to give their all to be the best. For example Yuto Horigome from Tokyo, Japan who is 19 years old has got some serious skills, already scored really high in american skate contests the past year.

As far as american skaters most of them are pretty sceptical about skateboarding being in the Olympics. They think it might ruin the sport, if it even is considered a sport and how the skating would be judged, because it's so personal. There are many things to take in to consideration when judging skateboarding. For example: style, technique, how technical the trick is, ...

But obviously there are also a lot of skaters who are in favor for it getting some exposure, because maybe it will lead to more skateparks being build and a bigger budget in general.
