Hi, friends!

Today we are going in the closer history of rallying, in the days when mechanical diffs were re-introduced because electronic diffs were just too much for some teams who couldn't afford further development so they left the sport at the end of season 2005.

What are these teams that I am talking about?

Well, Škoda, Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Citroen left the sport, leaving only Subaru and Ford as a works teams.

Škoda supported private teams who wanted to run their cars while Mitsubishi and Peugeot left permanently with no comeback to this day to the top of the sport.

Citroen took sabatical year and came back in 2007 with the new car called C4 WRC. But Citroen also paid Belgium team Kronos Racing to run their cars in 2006 just to be in shape for the year to come after.

Rally Spain was full tarmac rally at that time and not mixed event (tarmac and gravel) llike these days.

Watch and learn from tarmac masters...
