Something strange is going on in the Italian rally championship called CIR because Italian drivers who were very tough for the foreigners can't win there anymore. Is that the fall of quality of Italian rally stars or something else I don't know. But something really is.

Breen won the rallies in the tarmac championship. And now French driver Stephane Consani won the first round of their gravel championship called Rally Adriatico which is the event with around 100km of special stages.

Cool thing is that old fox Paolo Andreucci is back behind a wheel of an old Peugeot 208 R5 and took a final podium place with gap of more then half a minute behind a winner.

There was no Andreucci's regular co-driver Anna Andreussi who's now his wife as I heard. But this result is godd for Ucci. Last season he finished 11th at Adriatico, so this is not bad at all for him.

It will be interesting to see if the Italian stars can do something better in the following rallies because this is not good in my opinion.

Results:

Consani 1:01:18.4

Marchioro +11.8

Andreucci +36.5

Scandola +43.1

Ceccoli +1:11.7
