Haydon Paddon lost his drive at Hyundai WRC team at the end of 2018 and after that he was waiting for a call from his ex-bosses at Hyundai for a possible drive this season but they chose Craig Breen instead.

That was a big hit for Paddon who was always tightly connected with the brand of Hyundai so he had to find a new drive for this season.

I can't believe that two WRC rallies with M-Sport Ford cost 600 000€ because he revealed that numbers in his statement today. It is a big money and he found that money from his investors. Don't forget that Paddon comes from industrialist family from New Zealand so he probably has some connections there.

He had a big crash in pre-event testing in Finland and his car was so wrecked that he couldn't start the rally at all. So this chance was blown away.

After that he signed a contract with the same team for Wales Rally and Rally Australia and he only drove Wales event because Australian event was cancelled because of the bush fires. Also in Wales he drove R5 spec car and not a WRC car.

Now he said that he decided to stay with the brand of Hyundai because of the strong support from home at New Zealand and he will form and build his own rally car for 2020.

He also revealed that he will rent a WRC car for New Zealand round of WRC in 2020.

That's it.
