Hi, friends!

It seems that R5 category cars market is larger every day. Manufacturers very quickly found out that there's a good opportunity for a stake because drivers with bigger budget invest 200k-300k€ into these cars without any problems.

It's still easier to buy R5 car then to buy a new generation of WRC cars which cost around 750 000€ and it's a PRICE for a rally car which will be an old generation in a few years.

WRC cars are for the World Rally Championship and for a very rich privateers who like to spend their money for a new largely expensive toys.

Guys from Mellors Motorsport started to develop new Proton called Iriz R5. They previously had Proton Satria S2000 also developed by themselves and homologated by the factory itself.

It seems that Proton has a massive trust in them because they invested and paid very well known drivers to drive in WRC and IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge). They now develop Iriz R5 and international gossip says that the car will debut at Monte Carlo Rallye in January.

My sources are always right so I don't doubt into this. It's good for us to have another manufacturer car entry with cars that sound very LOUD.

Thanks for photos and videos to WRC.com and Youtube.
