It's official now! Ott Tanak signed a two year contract with Hyundai works WRC team and will drive their i20 WRC alongside Thierry Neuville on full season terms.

Nobody believed in this news but Hyundai revealed this signing today. And it is a big news.

Last time that driver changed a team which gave him a championship winning car was in 2001 when Richard Burns won the championship with Subaru Impreza WRC but he signed with Peugeot for the following season and then brought number one to the new team for the whole next season.

It is a big marketing stuff to have a number one on their car for one year in the World Rally Championship and Hyundai never had that pleasure. Until now.

So Tanak and Neuville will have a full season program for 2020 and 2021 and they will also have some other drivers sharing a third car as well.

Good job for Hyundai guys...
