Or as we call it in The Netherlands: Vrouwen Sjouwen, is actually a ‘sport’ that is being performed in several countries.

The concept of the game is very simple: Get the wife to climb-up up your back and run like the wind. First couple to make it to the finish wins.

There are different variations to the game; from very simple tracks up to complete obstacles runs where you have to climb and and crawl, while making sure you don’t drop the lady.

Every year the best 'wife-carriers' compete in an actual World Championship which already exist since 1997. It is hosted in Finland and this years winners were Vytautas Kirkliauskas and Neringa Kirkliauskiene from Lithuania, who managed to run the track of 253.5 meters in just 65 seconds.

If you are looking for a a shared hobby to boost the relationship, wife-carrying might be something for you. :)
