Monster Energy Supercross 2018 Tracks & Iker Larranaga signs for KTM
So the big two month countdown has begun until the first gate drop in the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross series and it's shaping up to be a corker! Feld Motorsports have whet our appetites today though and released the whole seasons worth of tracks for the upcoming events. The season will kick off, as always with Anaheim 1 at the Angels Stadium on January the 5th and there are going to be a number of unique features built into every track this year! Feld Motorsports has named them as "unique city-centric obstacles" which will feature speedway style flat turns, split lanes, back to back woop sections and elevated turns. Sand will feature in seven of the races and some under/over bridges will feature in four of them. You know what's best of all? I have a managed to secure a front row seat for the final! So expect a ton of updates and content from the event and i know i will be counting down the days till May! So what do you guys think of the new tracks? Round 1 - Anaheim 1 Round 2 - Glendale Round 3 - Anaheim 2 Round 4 - Oakland Round 5 - San Diego Round 6 - Minneapolis Round 7 - Arlington Round 8 - Detroit Round 9 - Atlanta Round 10 - Daytona The layout for Daytona is designed by the GOAT, Ricky Charmicheal and is released later in the season. Round 11 - Indianapolis Round 12 - Seattle Round 13 - Houston Round 14 - Nashville Round 15 - Denver Round 16 - East Rutherford Round 17 - Las Vegas Iker Larranaga signs for KTM Outside America the off season rolls on also and with it each year comes new deals, contracts and signings. The only issue with the motocross sector in its current state though is the lack of funding for new teams. It seems the modern era of motocross has bought with it a lot of extra costs and some of the smaller teams simply can't balance the books for new or multiple riders. So we i see a deal being offered to someone up and coming it's always greeted with a smile. That smile must have widened for Iker Larranaga when he was offered a deal to sign with the Marchetti KTM team considering he is recovering from injury and is not back riding yet. The Spaniard enjoyed a great break through season this year though before being forced to sit out the remainder of the MX2 class in the FIM Motocross World Championship. The crash, which happened during the MXGP of Indonesia, was substantial though and left the rider with both shoulders dislocated. He was riding well before the incident though with a series best finish of sixth in moto two at the British Grand Prix. He was also running in twelfth place in the MX2 Championship so with a clear run Marchetti KTM believe he can easily break into the top ten. As Larranaga turns twenty two in December this year that will mean he will have one last chance to prove himself in MX2 before being forced up to the premier MXGP category. This is big because the deals only get harder to find as you move up so this is make or break i believe for him. That being said i wish him all the luck in the world and the power is now in his hands to make it work! Good luck mate :)
