Proposed Miami track

Formula One officials have decided that the Miami Grand Prix race will not take place next year. This information was provided by the commercial director of the motorsport queen, Sean Bratches.

The Liberty Media company, which manages the most important racing series in the world, has been pushing for the organization of the competition in Miami for some time. At some point, it seemed that everything was already established, and the competition will be available in next year's calendar. In the end, delays in contract negotiations and protests of a certain number of residents, however, caused that this round will appear in F1 only from the 2020 season.

- Originally, we wanted the Miami race to take place in 2019, but there is always a limit on which we can not provide the best conditions for our fans, teams and drivers. Such a moment appeared precisely in relation to the next season and the then planned struggles in Miami - emphasized Bratches.
- We have made good progress, but it is very complicated negotiations. In recent months, we have worked closely with our promoter, Stephen Ross, the city of Miami, as well as Miami Dade County, to bring the Formula 1 racing weekend to Miami, added the commercial director of F1.
- Anyway, we have a long-term plan and after consultation with the authorities of Miami decided to decide to postpone the contract by the end of summer hoping to organize the first race in Miami 2020. We think that such a decision will be much more beneficial for everyone - ended Bratches.

Hopefully, F1 will still want to organize Fan Festival in Miami as it is planned to happen this October. So fans will have a chance to see their favourite teams who will be driving cars around the streets.

F1 decided to postpone the event also due to protests of residents. The race would  cause traffic jams and there is also a lot of noise. If F1 would have been sue by the citizens they would lost the case. There is no hurry, they need to close an agreement so everybody will be satisfied.

Maybe it's better to wait one year to experience an amazing event, carefully planned with the best possible race. I think that 2020 event will be much better, because if the race would have happend 2019 year it would be just a race 'on a sub-optimal race track', that would be organized just to do a deal. For sure F1 will goes out of their way to deliver the best race and to satisfy their fans with the best event. What do you think about that?
