Looking for cheap players with ton of fantasy potential.

Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia)

Position: forward

Scorum Draft price: 6.0

Wahbi Khazri is Tunisia’s captain and the team’s main attacking threat. He had a goal and an assist against Belgium, which comes as no surprise. He had the most amount of touches in the opponent’s box, the most amount of shots (5), and his team’s only big scoring chance. He leads his team in shots, key passes, and penalty area touches during the World Cup. Tunisia is coming into the game against Panama as big favorites which makes Khazri an ideal pick for the last match of the group stage.

Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

Position: forward

Scorum Draft price: 8.0

Egypt has no chance of advancing into the playoffs, but Mohamed Salah has a chance to prove why he was considered one of the contenders for Ballon d’Or prior to the Champions League Final. Saudi Arabia is one of the weakest sides of the tournament which sets the scene for one of Mo Salah’s elite performances - nothing happens in Egypt’s attack without him.

He only played one game at the tournament, his fitness level being suboptimal after the injury, but he was still best in all main attacking categories in his team. The price is not as steep and the returns are highly promising.

Goncalo Guedes (Portugal)

Position: midfielder

Scorum Draft price: 6.5

Andre Silva was Cristiano Ronaldo’s main helper during the Qualifying stages of the World Cup, but he has been out of form lately and lost his starting berth to Goncalo Guedes, who had had a magnificent season with Valencia.

Guedes is 2nd in chances created, penalty area touches, and 3rd in shots. He played 170 minutes out of possible 180, while his position rival Andre Silva played only 10. He looks an assured starter and Portugal are heavy favorites against Iran. Guedes at his current price of 6.5 looks and enticing pick.

Christian Cueva (Peru)

Position: midfielder

Scorum Draft price: 6.0

Peru played solid games against Denmark and Peru but failed to capitalize on the scoring chances and lost any chances of advancing to the playoffs. Do not be alarmed by their lack of goals - they played really well. They had 27 shots (16 in box) against defensively sound Denmark and France and earned 1 penalty.

Cueva - their penalty taker - missed from the spot, but has been extremely active in the final third. 5 chances created, 11 penalty area touches, 3 shots in the box - these are elite numbers for 172 minutes played. Peru will be itching to get a result against Australia, and Cueva will be the one to translate his emotions into goals.

Miguel Layun (Mexico)

Position: defender

Scorum Draft price: 7.0

Miguel Layun is an ideal fantasy pick since he plays out of position. He is listed as a defender in fantasy tournaments but plays as a winger. It significantly increases his chances of getting a goal or an assist while still makes him eligible for clean sheet points (4) in case Mexico concedes no goals.

This pick is backed up by statistics as well. He leads his team in shots (6), has created 4 chances for his teammates (only Carlos Vela has more with 6). Swedes are not a very attacking-minded team and Miguel might nick an assist or goal to go with a clean sheet.

Xherdan Shaqiri (Switzerland)

Position: midfielder

Scorum Draft price: 7.0

Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri are facing two-match bans for their goal celebrations in the win over Serbia. It is still unclear whether they get suspended or not, but you will definitely be checking news feeds until the very last minutes of the deadline if you elect to pick Shaqiri.

Omitting him from your squad can be costly as he has got a ton of attacking potential and a very modest price tag. He was the main architect of the win against Serbia (a goal and an assist), and his shot numbers are impressive. Xherdan had 9 out of his team’s total 26 shots during the World Cup.

Antonio Rudiger (Germany)

Position: defender

Scorum Draft price: 5.5

Rudiger arrived at the World Cup as a bench player but found himself in the starting XI for game 2. After Boateng’s dismissal against Sweden, his starting place is guaranteed. You shouldn’t be expecting any attacking returns, but he’s got a good chance for a clean sheet - Korea scored only 1 goal and created 1 big chance across 2 of their last games.
