It is a long International break, and the good news is it finally has come to the end. This Saturday, we will welcome the GW9 of Premier League and that too with a bang as Chelsea will welcome Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, during the break, I was playing with my fantasy team, and writing some cool statistics about my team.

My FPL team at end of GW 8

This was my team from the GW 8, some good pick here especially captaining Hazard which gave me a big boost in the rank. At the end of the GW 8, here are some stats of my FPL team:

  • Total Points: 498
  • Highest Weekly Score: 84 in GW 2. (Yet to get the mark of 100, I always save that for DGW)
  •  Highest Weekly Rank: 233,180 in GW 8 (Got the best ranking in GW 8, thanks to Hazard and Wilson)
  • Favorite Captain: Sergio Aguero ( I captained him 4 times, only failed me once which was GW1. Captained Salah and Hazard twice each )
  • Goals: 26 (Satisfied)
  • Assists: 16
  • Clean Sheets: 14 (Poor here, not a pick in the backline here)
  • Goal Conceded: 39
  • Yellow Cards: 16 (That is too much for my team, there hadn't been a single GW where my team didn't concede yellow cards)
  • Red Cards: 2 (2 back to back red cards in GW 2 for Wan-Bassika  and GW 3 for Richarlison)
  • Penalties Missed: 0 (Been lucky here)
  • Penalties Saved: 0 (Been Unlucky here)

Accumulating Overall Points of 498 till GW 8, I am happily at 183k out of 5.76 million players. I am still happy about my performance as it keeps me at the top 3%. But my target is always to be within the top 1% in the world. For that, my overall rank should be top 57k for this season. Still, a long way to go in this marathon, I hope to reach that mark soon. Looking into each GW, I have been doing somehow better than the average fpl points. Here are my points compared to the average score in the Game Week.

There were 2 game weeks where my team failed to beat the average score. The first one is GW 3 where Richarlison conceded the red cards. I scored 40 points compared to an average score of 50. Then comes GW 6 where I missed the GW average of 52 points by 1 point and the only player to blame was Hazard who blanked against West Ham after the hattrick in GW5. Thus, the multiple of 3 so far is not favoring me. Then I realized, this is game week 9, multiple of 3 again.

Now, let's analyze my hard work till GW 8. I play Playing around the team week in and week out, I have managed 498 points so far. What if my team was a dead team and I didn't spend any time after creating this team. I would still be in a similar position than where I am. The team I made in GW 1 would have given me a total of 463 points. I would proudly say, I did pick a good team, but it has changed a lot since then. The only regret here is transferring out of Doherty and Aubameyang after their bad start to the Game Week. I got Doherty out at the start of GW 5 and he punished me ever since. He scored 40 points in his 4 GW after I got him out compared to 9 points during the period I had him from GW 1 to Gw 4. Another player who I removed at the start of GW 5 is Aubameyang who punished me with 29 points in his last four-game week.
