After a long wait, the Fantasy Premier League is here. Eight of the teams managed to win their respective games while 2 games ended in the draw. 25 goals were scored in GW 1 while 8 teams managed clean sheets. Liverpool leads the table after scoring 4 against the Hammers, while Chelsea is on second. Arsenal is the only team among the big six without a point, as they lost to Manchester City.

Liverpool 4-0 WestHam United

Impressive Liverpool trio delivered the returns as Liverpool got four against Westham. Salah just took 19 minutes to resume the season from the point he left by tapping the low cross.  Mane got two while Sturridge got the final goal to complete 4-0 display. Mane who is just owned by 18% of FPL managers got 16 points while 54% owned Salah got 8 points. Firmino notched an assist for 36% of managers who owned him. Robertson continued his impressive form with a clean sheet and an assist getting 11 points. Another FPL favorite Arnautovic who is owned by 20% managers was substituted in the 67th minute in a frustrating night.

Southampton 0-0 Burnley

Clean sheets were written all over St. Mary's Stadium as Southampton drew against Burnley. But the most loved Cedric Soares in FPL ended with 1 points after being substituted before 60 minutes.  Charlie Austin failed to impress for the Saints, and Danny Ings also got around half an hour in his debut replacing Armstrong. Saint's Alex McCarthy got 2 save points for his 6 saves and 3 bonus points which means he would finish GW 1 as the highest scorer among the goalkeepers with 11 points. Like the previous season, Burnley was very impressive at the back with Mee and Tarkowski starting before the Joe Hart, and Tom Heaton started as a substitute. In 4-4-1-1, Chris Wood started in front of Ashley Barnes and Sam Vokes while Jeff Hendrick started behind Wood.

Arsenal 0 - 2 Manchester City

Manchester City started their title defense with an impressive victory over Arsenal at Emirates stadium. Just owned by 2% managers, Sterling started ahead of Fantasy favorite Sane and it just took him 14 minutes to provide City a deserving lead. Bernardo Silva got the second goal for City which was enough to kill the game. Both goals were assisted by Mendy who finished the match with massive 15 points. Aguero in his 79 minutes before he was substituted by Jesus got nothing for his managers and ended with 4 points for the one who trusted him with captain armband. He missed a couple of golden chances, which puts him more in rotation risk.

De Bruyne was introduced in an hour mark in place of Mahrez and should be ready to start GW 2. It will be interesting how City will shape its frontline player with so many options and value available.

For Arsenal, Cech is still a number one stopper ahead of Leno. Both Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan were wasteful for the gunners. Lacazette came into 54th minute saw him playing up front leaving Aubameyang to the left flank. Lacazette just played 36 minutes but had a better game with more shots than Aubameyang.

Scorum-fans/SBC League

It already feels great to see a couple of centuries in the first GW. @evladar with his team "Swallows SPb" was the first person to join the league after I created it, and he still stays comfortably in the first position winning the GW1. He got everything right picking Mane as his captain, starting Richarlison and getting double figures from all his defenders. Here is the link to his team: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/55906/event/1 if you are interested. As promised, every GW winner will be getting 5 SCR and your SCR has been sent to you. Congratulations @evladar and good luck everyone.

I finished in 19th, not good enough to be seen in the above screenshot. But I can see many familiar faces there, who did exceptionally well. Eight of the managers getting 90+ scores while 2 got the century in the first GW. This GW showed that there is more value in the mid and defense than the expensive forward line.

How was your first week of FPL season 2018/19? Do you see yourself within the top 15 of the league?
