In the six matches played on Saturday, Everton, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, and Chelsea registered the win while Cardiff and Newcastle ended in a stalemate. With Cardiff and Newcastle, Leicester was the only team to manage the clean sheet. Although 17 goals were scored on Saturday, the average FPL points are still a mere 22 points. The most popular FPL assets still need to play and there would be a huge improvement in the average score. Here are some FPL insights from Saturday matches.

  • Cardiff City 0-0 Newcastle United

Goals: N/A, Assists: N/A

The highlight of the match was Cardiff stopper Etheridge who is just owned by less than 1% FPL managers claimed 16 points. It is his second penalty save in his second match, and we would certainly see his owner growing but has difficult fixtures including Arsenal, Chelsea, and ManCity in the next 4. And the convict for today's match was Newcastle's Kenedy who had his penalty saved in stoppage time, put poor performance, and likely to see 3 match ban after the incident which referee didn't see. Second half substitute Hayden saw a red card in the 20th minute but Cardiff couldn't utilize it and didn't have single shot in the target which is going to reduce attraction to their forwards. Cardiff is yet to score a goal in the top flight.

  • Everton 2 - 1 Southampton

Goals: Theo Walcott, Richarlison, Danny Ings
Assists: Morgan Schneiderlin, Walcott, Mario Lemina

The fairy tale of Richarlison continues as he grabbed another goal and 9 points for his managers and now has 26% ownership. His price is rocketing pretty quickly now with back to back brilliant FPL point hauls. But the star of today's show was Walcott who got a goal and an assist and 13 massive points for his 2% owners. Schneiderlin got an assist for Walcott goal. Holgate started for suspended Jagelika but their new signing Zouma and Yerry Mina were not featured today.

Danny Ings got one back for Southampton to frustrate the 20% owned Pickford's managers and was assisted by Lemina. After impressive substitute display in GW 1, Ings got 6 shots today and he is already in radar for many managers given his price tag of 5.5mil.

  • Leicester City 2 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Goals: James Maddison, Matt Doherty(OG)
Assists: Ricardo Pereira

After getting late goals against Manchester United, Vardy was transferred in by 98k managers but ended up with a red card after challenging Doherty in an hour mark. Also for the owner of Doherty like me ended with minus 1 points after scoring an own goal in the first half. On a positive note, Leicester's Pereira got his second assist in his second match and contributed massive 12 points for his 2% owners. Maddison got the second goal for Leicester in the first half. Chilwell was again impressive creating numerous chances and got 2 bonus points for it. Wolves assets Jota and Neves failed to impress today.

Tottenham Hotspur 3 - 1 Fulham

Goals: Lucas Moura, Kieran Trippier , Harry Kane, Aleksandar Mitrovic
Assists: Erik Lamela, Dele Alli ,Ryan Sessegnon

Kane ended his August curse getting a goal at his 15th attempt in the month of August, and some joy for 30% managers owning him. In his first PL games of the season, Trippier continued his impressive world cup form scoring a brilliant freekick and getting a double figure of 11 points for his managers, which risks Eriksen's return from set pieces. Eriksen blanked yet again and given his price tag of 9.5mil, he is already most sold player after de Buryne and Vardy. Lucas Moura got the first goal for the Spurs.

Mitrovic got the first goal for Fulham in the top flight as his impressive display continues as he has already managed 11 efforts on goal which is the highest till now. Sessegnon got the assist for the Mitrovic goal.

  • West Ham United 1 - 2 AFC Bournemouth

Goals: Marko Arnautovic , Callum Wilson, Steve Cook
Assists: Javier Hernandez , Cook, Ryan Fraser

Wilson and Fraser were once again in scoresheet following an impressive display in GW1, as Bournemouth came from behind to defeat West Ham. Wilson is already among the top transferred in a player this week and his price should hike while Fantasy favorite King is losing his owner rapidly. But Bournemouth defender Steve Cook was the man of the moment who got a goal and an assist and ended with 14 points. He is just owned by 2% managers.

West Ham failed to impress once again and gave away the lead from 20% owned play Arnautovic. Arnautovic should be getting more owners given his price tag and spot-kick duty.  Hernandez playing alongside Arnautovic got assist for the goal. West Ham defense is not convincing at all for Fantasy managers and they will play Arsenal next.

  • Chelsea 3 - 2 Arsenal

Goals: Alonso, Pedro, Morata, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan
Assists: Azpilicueta, Alonso, Hazard, Mkhitaryan

A five-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge and Alonso once proved he can still get attacking returns despite playing in back four, and looked very dangerous. He was not as popular as last season after Sarri's formation putting him down in defense. Alonso got the winner, an assist for Pedro's goal and maximum 3 bonus points, which makes him highest scoring defender with the double figure in consecutive games. He is the second most transferred-in player after Richarlison this game week. Pedro got his second goal in his second start for Chelsea while Hazard came off the bench to assist Alonso's winner. Morata got the first goal of the season, once again assisted by Azpilicueta. Azpilicueta has already assisted 7 of the Morata goal which is the record for highest number of assists for single teammate since last season, level with the pair of Mahrez and Vardy.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is kindly priced at 7.0 mil and can be a valuable pick for this season. He got a goal and assist against Chelsea, his first return of the season. Iwobi scored the first goal for Arsenal in his first start of the season. But the fantasy favorite Aubameyang was wasteful once again. Arsenal has a very good fixture to follow, and we might see some returns from Aubameyang.
