With some surprising results and lots of talking about the big match between Spurs and Manchester United, the GW 22 is over. For me, it was not a good game week. But this game week left many talking points to us.
Here are some facts:
Average points: 49
Most Captained: Salah (it hurts)
Most Transferred in: Rashford (Surprising given he was against Spurs away)
MVP: Rice (15 points- scored a goal against Arsenal and ruined the party)
Most Captained among live teams:
- Salah 31.2%
- Hazard 20.6% ( flopped)
- Aubameyang 13.6% - Big Flop :(
The biggest talking point for this game week is the Arsenal's loss against West Ham. After stellar of form before the festival season, Arsenal had been poor recently. They don't have any consistent FPL pick for now. Aubameyang, the highest scorer among the strikers is going with ups and down. It means Aubameyang blanks once against Hammers. Youngsters Rice scored the only goal for West Ham to provide the important victory and take West Ham to the top half of the table.
Another upset was Leicester losing against Southampton. Ndidi was on the scoresheet for Leicester while Ward-Prowse and Long scored for Soton. Pereira and Long collected an assist each. With the win, Southampton comes out of relegation, pushing Newcastle into it.
Liverpool collected a routine victory against Brighton to stay at the top. Salah, the captain favorite scored the only goal from the penalty. It's his fourth double-figure in last 5 matches. Not having him is hurting too much for me and should be the same story for many managers. Now, 45.8% managers own him while his price is now rocketed to 13.4 million, the most expensive player.
Chelsea won against Newcastle United but Hazard and Alonso failed to impress. It had been long since Alonso got the attacking return. I had captained Hazard too but he just returned an assist. Willian and Pedro were on goal for Chelsea in a 2-1 victory over Newcastle as Clark got a goal for Newcastle. David Luiz once again proved his worth after he got an assist, his second in last 3 matches.
Everton won 2-0 against Bournemouth. Wilson was out injured for Bournemouth. Calvert-Lewin and Zouma got a goal each while Lookman and Digne were the providers. In the final game of the week, Manchester City collected an easy win against 10 men Wolves after Boly conceded a red card. Aguero was left in bench because of match fitness but the good news is he played last 14 minutes. He should be ready to start against Huddersfield, the team he got a hattrick in the reverse fixture. Jesus got 2 goals for City while Sterling, De Bruyne, and Sané collected an assist each.
In the most awaited game, de Gea made sure there was no goal galore at Wembley with 11 saves for which he got 3 BPS, and total of 12 points for this GW. Lloris was equally impressive with 7 saves. A lot of goals were expected between these 2 big teams but 18 saves between these 2 means we witnessed only 1 goal. The goal came after the brilliance of Pogba at midfield as he fed Rashford a perfect ball for a goal. Kane and Son were left frustrated. But the big worry is that Spurs will be without Son and Kane for till next month, the pair who contributed 50% of Spurs goal recently. Kane suffered an ankle injury while Son left for Asia Cup. It would be interesting to see Spurs line up without these 2 players.

A fourth win for my friend @ivan4eg. He had been doing great recently. He won GW 12, 15, 20, and now GW 22. For another impressive week, he got his back line perfectly, and a perfect captain pick. He got 34 points from his back 4, good job by picking Digne and Holebas there. You are flying high @ivan4eg, good luck moving forward.
Congratulations @ivan4eg, your rewards had been delivered.
An average week for me with just 54 points. It was higher than average by 5 points but it didn't stop the red arrow for me. Red everywhere but not in Scorum-fans/SBC League. I stood firm in the 9th spot. @oldem28 is still at the top after scoring 42 points, still a big lead.
How was your fantasy GW 21?
