Premier League will start on August 10 exactly after 26 days of World Cup. The players involved in last four games will most probably not start in the GW1 of the premier league as they won't have a standard resting period. England making it to the semifinal of the World Cup after 1990 would heavily affect the Premier League. And it would affect the strategy of the Fantasy Premier League managers as big guns from the PL teams won't be available for the selections.

Players who were out of Group Stage and Round of 16 will certainly feature in GW1. Players who made it to quarterfinals are still a doubt and need to be monitored for team news and pre-season friendlies. Those who made it to semifinals would certainly not start in GW1, and may well start only after GW5, but it all depends on the players and the club. The World Cup golden boot winner Harry Kane already made a desire to start the first game of EPL for Tottenham but it seems unlikely given the amount of rest he gets after the world cup. I believe the whole squad even if they were in bench will be provided with a required amount of rest before they join PL.

Who had the highest representative?

The top teams are heavily affected by the World Cup unlike Arsenal who only had Welbeck to represent them in the semi-final and he is not a regular starter for them. Tottenham had 9 players including Harry Kane representing them in the semifinal and beyond while the team from Manchester had 7 players each. Chelsea will miss five of their players while Liverpool only had 3 of their players in the semifinal.

Whose players are tired?

Tottenham players here is obviously is the most tired among all as they racked up 4816 minutes in this world cup. England reaching to the semi means they had the highest representative in the semifinal and beyond and played the most. ManCity players were second playing 4583 minutes followed by ManUtd and Chelsea players. Liverpool and Arsenal players are relatively not fatigue and had lesser minutes

Most Goals by PL teams

If you are looking who had a successful world cup in terms of goal, it should be Tottenham. They contributed more than twice the number of goals than other teams in PL did in the World Cup. They had 12 goals in this World Cup, thanks to Harry Kane and his 6 goals. The other team to contribute 12 goals was PSG. Harry Kane looks like a must have to your fantasy team considering his form at the World Cup. But you all know how effective August curse is on him. It's good that he will get good rest to go of his curse and start the September with a bang. Lukaku got 4 goals in this World Cup while John Stones scored twice for England.

ManUtd and ManCity players scored 5 goals each for their nations. Chelsea and Liverpool's players managed 4 goals each. Chelsea will be the proudest team of all PL teams as they have 2 World Cup medalist. Kante and Giroud started for France in World Cup Final. ManUtd has Pogba and Spurs has Lloris as World Cup winners among the PL teams.

What is your plan?

As I mentioned, the players who made it to quarterfinals will still be missing GW1, but you have to wait for the team news. And for the semifinalist, they are certain to miss the couple of GW. FPL managers, how are you planning to cope with this scenario?

I am looking to avoid these late returners. And most probably, I will be going for an early wildcard to integrate all those top players missing early GW.
