I'm not a huge fan of DraftKings. . It's not that I dislike fantasy or Daily Fantasy Sports, however the odds are extremely tough to beat in contests that are multi-entry considering there are "professional" DFS players that use algorithms to lineup stack 100's of entries into one contest. . . If you think you are some fantasy guru and your 1 or 2 lineups are going to compete on a regular basis versus people that have 100's of lineups entered you are sadly mistaken. . .

This weeks $3.25 million contest is extremely enticing, however the maximum number of entries is 150 and there will be players spending $3000+ in entries while the average user may be playing 1-5. The odds in Multi-Entry contests are tough, even though that $1million top prize is attractive. . . Now, don't get me wrong, I have certainly entered my fair share of these high risk/high reward contests, but I usually just look at it as an expensive lottery or raffle ticket as opposed to thinking I am going to defeat those who are running hundreds of different combinations. . .

Anyhow, this post was not meant to be a beat-down on DraftKings, in fact I love the concept of Daily Fantasty Sports and play every so often. . .

I just follow 2 simple rules when entering contests on DK to at least put the odds in my favor if I happen to put together a killer lineup. . .

RULES

  1. Single Entry Contests (Max 3 entry contest)
  2. 2000 Entries or less

You will notice that I don't put a limit on the entry fee. . The entry fee doesn't really matter to me. If I have the right lineup, then I'm gonna kick ass, if I don't. . .Oh well, I got some entertainment out of the deal. . .I typically play contests anywhere from $3-$50.

Today, I am playing in the MLB $2.5k Pickoff. . .990 entries max, top prize $250. . .

Here is my lineup:
