What is it?

HIIT training or high intensity interval training is a training technique in which you train at 100% of your ability through short and fast blast moments, followed by a short recovery phase.

This type of training raises your heart rate to very high levels, and therefore your metabolism rises, which will allow you to burn more fat than an ordinary low-intensity cardio.

Examples of High Intensity Activities

  • High-intensity interval training
  • Tabata training
  • Running
  • Speed walking
  • Hill walking
  • Climbing stairs
  • Jump roping

Benefits of doing this kinda of "Workout Plan" ?

# 1 Increased metabolism

The combination of a high-intensity workout with intervals and repeated high intensity results in a state of EPOC, which speeds up the speed of our metabolism.

EPOC = Excess Post Exercise Oxygen Consuption~

# 2 Fast and convenient

A Hiit training takes up to 30 minutes

HIIT training can be done anywhere: at home, in a hotel room, in a park, in the gym and in many other places.

# 3 No equipment required

Hiit training can be done with your body weight, or if you want to invest, you can buy a treadmill for better balance and speed control because the focus of training is to accelerate your heart rate with the intensity of the workout.

Risks of doing HIIT Trains ?

There are not many risks on this type of plan, however, the great loss of muscle mass is significant.

My opinion

Although HIIT training has a lot of benefits and is proven to really work and is one of the best plans to lose fat, yet when I was "fat" I did not follow it for the simple reason.

The loss of muscle mass is significant as I said, and this is not the best thing to do because, the more muscle mass, the more fat you lose easily, and also because it is easier to start with some muscle mass than none at all.

If your goal is to get lean, then yes, this is the best workout you can do (HIIT).
If your goal is to get set with your muscles then I would recommend you to follow the carb cycling diet, if you want to see it is my first post.
