Workout supplements are all the craze. Every type of powder, protein, shake, and pill is being sold to gym rats. Most of these supplements do not actually help you though. In fact some actually can cause harm (organ damage ).
I'd contest that we really don't actually need supplements for working out. Eating a proper meal high in protein and fat, getting sleep, and not overtraining are the keys. But there ARE foods and substances that are effective at assisting your training without ingesting a weird chemical concoction from the health food store.
#1 Shilajit
Shilajit is a resin gathered from the mountains of Asia. The resin is plant life breakdown that grows on the side of rocks over the course of thousands of years. A black rubbery/tar substance has an incredible number of trace minerals and minerals. The electrical charge you get after taking it is substantial. Add it to green tea for a nice natural kick in the morning that lasts all day. Because it's nutritional not a stimulant, you will get in a better workout.
#2 CBD oil
The most important part of working out is the recovery. Without proper recovery your muscles will not heal and will remain exhausted. CBD is a hemp extract oil that contains healing and relaxing properties. CBD helps reduce inflammation and enhances quality of sleep. Both vital components of healing and recovery.
#3 Watermelon juice
Watermelon juice is loaded with N.O. . Nitrous Oxide is the vasodilator that opens up your blood vessels and arteries to help your pumps while lifting. Watermelon juice helps open your circulatory system to pump more blood faster. NO powders and gels are popular but personally I rather drink something natural. It has done the job for me.
#4 Bone Broth
This is one of the greatest healthfoods there is. Bone broth is exactly what it sounds like. Broth derived from the bones of animals. When stewing bone broth the heat breaks down the collagen, marrow, vitamins and minerals in the bones. As a result you get a nutrient rich stew that is amazing for your joints. Weightlifting is hard on your joints, even if you're doing it correctly. Bone Broth helps minimize down time due to injury and preventing injuries, because of it's contents repairing and building your joints and ligaments.
