🏃 🏃 My journey back to fitness Week 6 🏃 🏃
Hello Scorum folks and fitness friends. I hope I find you all well and healthy on this fine morning! Just checking in with my weekly update after completing week 6. Well, an actual fact I'm 4 days into week 7 now, but never get around to posting at the start of each week. It's usually Wednesday or Thursday by the time I get around to posting. Life is so very busy for me these days. Work is flat out, then there is family life with my wife and three boys and I've just recently started studying for another Cisco certification and I'm still trying to fit in my golf too. Then off course there is this new fitness regime that I am trying to keep going too and then I'm trying to find time for Scorum as well, so my days are hard core and filled to the brim these days, but it's all good, I'm enjoying all of it and the early morning workouts are really starting my days off on the perfect foundation. There's something very satisfying about getting up at 6am or 6:30am and being productive right from the get go. Plan your time That is definitely something that I have noticed about this year so far. I am being extremely productive with my time, and scheduling loads into each day. The one thing I see very little of these days is my television, and there is no harm at all in that. I'd love to have more time at night for some non technical reading, but right now, it is very difficult to find the time for that. As I tend to do sometimes, I've headed off on a tangent, so let me re-align to what this post is all about. For any first time readers, this fitness regime was born out of this post I made back in December: https://scorum.com/en-us/scorum/@ablaze/don-t-forget-to-feed-the-minnows-and-my-5-resolutions-for-2019 Some friends on scorum have joined me in my pursuit of fitness and you too can easily do the same. It's all about just making a start one day and trying to form a habit. So what did I get up to in Week 6? Workouts Day by Day Day 34185 x pushups 110 x Dumbell curls (9Kg) 110 x Dumbell side lifts (9Kg) 225 x sit ups 550 x jumping jacks 150 x No weight arm exercise 225 x shadow boxing Day 35100 x pushups 80 x Dumbell curls (9Kg) 80 x Dumbell side lifts (9Kg) 150 x sit ups 400 x jumping jacks 100 x No weight arm exercise 150 x shadow boxing Day 36110 x pushups 120 x Dumbell curls (9Kg) 120 x Dumbell side lifts (9Kg) 235 x sit ups 200 x jumping jacks 150 x No weight arm exercise 225 x shadow boxing Day 3780 x pushups 100 x Dumbell curls (9Kg) 100 x Dumbell side lifts (9Kg) 150 x sit ups 200 x jumping jacks 100 x No weight arm exercise 150 x shadow boxing 1 x golf Day 3880 x pushups 80 x Dumbell curls (9Kg) 80 x Dumbell side lifts (9Kg) 150 x sit ups 300 x jumping jacks 100 x No weight arm exercise 150 x shadow boxing Day 3980 x pushups 120 x Dumbell curls (9Kg) 120 x Dumbell side lifts (9Kg) 225 x sit ups 400 x jumping jacks 150 x No weight arm exercise 225 x shadow boxing Day 40Golf (7-8km walk) Over to you Struggling to open that jar of gherkins? Feeling lazy? Feel like you need to lose some weight? Feel like you want to get back into that sport you used to love? Just want to get out for a walk a couple of days a week? You need to ask yourself the question, "what's stopping you?" We are all great at making excuses for ourselves. Things like I don't have time, I can't afford the gym membership, my life is just too busy. I used to make those excuses for myself too, but not anymore, now I get up 30 minutes earlier most mornings and get stuck straight into 20 - 30 minutes of exercise. Now, that might not work for everyone, so others could look at freeing up 30 minutes at lunch, after dinner, before bed instead. Do you really need to watch that TV show? What is it going to do for you in the long run? Keeping fit and looking after yourself will 100% improve your life, your style and maybe even life longevity, so it is absolutely worth making the effort. No, it's not easy, especially at the beginning, but most things worth having or doing. are not easy, we have to work for them. I will say this though, it does get easier, as the habit is formed and that early morning exercise becomes as natural as brushing your teeth. It is part of your morning routine and it stops being a chore. Thanks a million for reading as always. Peace Out.
