American business mogul, Stan Kroenke is set for a full takeover at Arsenal which will leave the club valued at £1.8bn.

Reports claim the American is set to buy off the shares of the second highest shareholder, Alisher Usmanov who currently holds 30 percent of the shares.

Usmanov is said to have agreed to sell his shares and would receive £550m for his stake with Kroenke paying over £29,000 for each of the stakes.

Kroenke first took up shares at Arsenal in 2007 and has grown gradually since then with his stake currently at 67 percent, making him the highest shareholder.

Should the American Mogul pull this through, it would give him 100 percent control of Arsenal.

GOOD OR BAD NEWS FOR ARSENAL FANS?

While Kroenke might be smiling at his fortune, it may not be the best of news for Arsenal fans as over the years, of the two highest shareholders, Kroenke has always gotten the stick from Arsenal fans.

Usmanov has always shown interest in the club and readiness to spend but reverse has been the case with Kroenke as his lack of interest has made Arsenal fans carry placards at games, wanting the American out.

The Russian was once said to have bidder for Kroenke's share to enable him take full control of Arsenal and give Arsenal the financial power they require to battle the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain but bluntly refused.

The reason not difficult to decipher; Kroenke unlike Usmanov is a business man with no interest in whether the team wins trophies or not, all he is concerned about is that Arsenal keeps making profit which they have always done, year in year out despite not winning trophies.

Now that he is taking full control of the club, Arsenal fans can only hold their hearts in their mouths.
