Goals from Barcelona-bound Memphis Depay and PSV Eindhoven defender, Denzel Dumfries ensured Le Oranje's progress to the knockout stage.

Dumfries was brought down by a lazy David Alaba challenge in the 10th minute and Memphis Depay converted the resulting kick, before the PSV defender himself benefited from a generous play to score his team's second.

Here are three things we learnt.

*1. Dumfries, a revelation

It's a rare feat for the youngster to have put in top notch performances in the two games played so far.

The 25-year old became the first player after Ruud Van Nistelrooy to score in his first two games at the European championship for the Dutch side. He is in good company, you can say.

The PSV defender is now among the top scorers in the competition with two goals.

What did you know of Dumfries before?

2. Gini got the gene

Another excellent outing for new Paris Saint Germain signing, Giorgino Wijnaldum, who showed again how much he can bring to a team on his day.

Liverpool fans must be wondering how they allowed such a machine in the Dutch captain leave for free after an illustrious career at Anfield.

Gini played 94% of leagues games for Liverpool, featuring in 179 of the 190 games in his five-year career at the red side of Merseyside.

Do you think Gini will strengthen PSG?

3. Rejuvenated Le Oranje

Although Netherlands manager, Frank de Boer has played down the favorites tag, it's difficult to look away from his team's feat so far this tournament.

In 2012 at the Euro championship, Netherland lost all three group game matches, but since then, they have not looked back. The Le Oranje are now unbeaten in nine games in major tournaments, Euros and World cup combined.

This is the first time since 2008 that they have qualified from the group stage of any European Championship.

What do you think are the chances of this Dutch side in this competition?
