The English football league board has announced that it will be introducing the issuance of yellow and red cards in the coming campaign to managers.

The campaign which is a pilot for the Inter Football Association Board (IFAB) scheme is aimed at ensuring discipline and good behaviour on the touchline.

Although, Premier League managers will still be restricted to verbal warnings, managers would however be issued cards in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and EFL.

Four yellow cards would translate into a one-game touchline ban, eight for two, twelve for three and sixteen or more yellow cards would mean the manager would visit Wembley to face a Football Association disciplinary board.

For the time being, only the match officials (Referees) is allowed to issue cards, not assistant referees or fourth officials.
