It looks like, the more we think of Racism in football as dead, the harder it hits us unawares and keeps soiling the good name of the game that has brought the world together, even in the face of adversity.

The recent happenings in the English Premier League are no good for the publicity of the league and of course, a bad branding for a league of its calibre.

The authorities need to actually step up their punishment for offenders, perhaps, that would put an end to the non-ending abuse that players receive.

At Stamford Bridge over the weekend, Manchester City striker, Raheem Sterling, was allegedly abused by the home fans while he tried to retrieve the ball from the rear and the England forward only laughed it off at the spot.

Chelsea have come out to say that an investigation is currently on to fish our the perpetrator(s) of this who could face a possible life ban.

Just last week, Arsenal's Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was also stoned with a banana by a Tottenham fan during the North London Derby which Arsenal won 4-2. The fan was subsequently arrested.

The English FA need to really wage in on this issue as it no longer looks to be going away. The media has its own part to play.

Sterling after the match via posts on Instagram brought our attention to the disguised role the media is playing is furthering this cankerworm that have eaten deep into the fabric of the game.

According to Sterling, sometimes back when two young Manchester City players, Tosin Adarabioyo and Phil Foden both bought houses for the parents, the media's style of reporting the two like cases portrayed a shielded form of Racism.

It was reported, referring to Adarabioyo that **Young Manchester City footballer, 20, on £25,000 a week splashes out on mansion on market for £2.25m despite having never started a Premier League match** while the media reported, for Foden, **‘Foden buys new £2m home for his mum’..**

The reportage when looked critically attacks more, the personality of the former "simply" because he is black, even when what they both did was same.

If this rot in football is to go, all parties, FA, Media and football clubs must all cooperate and join hands together to bring it to an end.

Racism is not a virtue that should be allowed to thrive in the game.
