It is no longer news that Arsenal have become a joke this season. Rather than contend for the title, they are still struggling to get their season started after about 12 games on. Is this the Arsenal that the fans or the board want?
Only a few hours ago, I read the news that the Arsenal board released a statement saying they are strongly behind the Spaniard. They further went ahead to say that they see the team on the right path and that the coaching staff and players are the ones to take Arsenal to the next level while concluding that this would only work out if "the external; forces" allow them to do so. Really? Are they saying the fans are the cause of this downslide? Blaming the fans for their own undoings?
For the first time since the 1982/1983 season, Arsenal has recoded their worst start in the first 12 games of the Premier League. In fact, as Emery finally hit his half-century of games in charge, the total number of points he has amassed is just one more than what Arsene Wenger garnered in his final 50 games. this was a time we felt Wenger had overstayed and was losing touch at the club. For a coach who has not even proven to be worth the job to be at this level in just over a year into his reign, is abysmal.
MY OPINION
I would be very disappointed if Emery should tinker this team till the end of the season. We would rather have an interim manager till the end of the season and go for Arteta like we should have last summer. This is someone who is very much loved by the fans and tat the club. He was this close to getting the job last summer but out of nowhere, we went out to bring a disaster upon ourselves.
We should not be surprised if players like Aubameyang, Lacazette Leno and even Torreira are express their desire to leave because, you can not keep making their awesome talents look like mediocre, just because of an incompetent manager.
I think I'm going to take a break from watching the mess we now play, which is very alien to us until something is done about this.
