This is the one that they all want to win. I'd love to see Nigeria do it for all of the guys that post on here, but will they do the business? Well they got off to the perfect start yesterday by stamping their authority on Group D with a cagey 1-0 victory over Mo Salah's Egypt. Egypt now can't afford any potential banana skins against Sudan or Guinea-Bissau, but truth be told they will likely finish the group in second place with 6 points, as this group looks very like a two horse race, but you just try saying that to Sudan and Guinea-Bissau, who will both fancy their chances of upsetting the odds and at tournaments like this, we always have a few upsets, but I just don't see this being the group it happens in.
While I was looking through the results, something occurred to me, well two things actually, firstly there are not very many goals flying in so far, with the average goals per game currently standing at a paltry 1 goal exactly after ten games. Hopefully that changes soon and we see the goals starting to flow.
Maybe the Ivory Coast will buck the trend and bang in a few against Equatorial Guinea tonight? Or will we see another 1-0 result in one or both of the matches, after all, we have seen 7 of the 10 matches resulting in a 1-0 score so far.
Here are the Paddy Power prices for the 1-0 result to either side in case you want to have a flutter!
