What did you notice?

Manchester United won a load of titles? Yes, unfortunately they did, but that's not it.

I didn't include every year for the screen shots, but I took a sample of 13 since the first ever Premier League campaign back in 1994, and I have checked the the other ones which I have not included here also, and I realised that second placed Liverpool FC would have already won the title with their current haul of 91 points in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 (on goal difference), 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 (on goal difference), 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Across all of these years, only in 2005, 2017 and 2018 would Liverpool have finished second with their current total of 91 points. Every other year, including Man United's treble win in 1999 and Arsenal's infamous invincibles of 2004 would have finished second to Liverpool's 91 points, which they currently sit on with two games yet to play.

As I say, they have 2 games left and have every chance of making it to 97 points, and if they don't manage to win the league with that princely total, then that is one bitter bitter pill. That total would have been enough to win the Premier League every year since its inception except last year when City incredibly amassed an astronomical 100 points.

Just look at that table and the form of these two heavy weights as they slog it out over the last few months of this breath taking campaign.

Worthy Champions

Whoever wins it will be worthy winners, but whoever finishes second will have every right to feel robbed of a title, which would have been theres any other year that I can remember. Football can be a crazy game sometimes, I guess that's why we love it so much.

So, how do you guys see it panning out??

I have a funny feeling City will drop points at home to Leicester this Monday night and give Liverpool a glorious chance to break their barren spell in the English top flight. Mr Jamie Vardy is going to have a big say in this title race. Just one of those feelings... Let's wait and see...

Thanks a million as always for reading.

Peace Out.
