Sit back while you enjoy the read.

  1. Head Butt

Remember the famous Zinedane Zidane head butt on Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup final?

The 2006 World Cup final was supposed to be the biggest moment in Zinedine Zidane's career. The Frenchman would retire at the end of the game, with the possibility of leaving the game as the world champion. But it appears Marco Materazzi had other plans for him. A brief tackle brought the two players to a face-off situation where Zidane told Materazzi that if he wanted his shirt he would give it to him at the end. The Italian said "No, I prefer you give me your whore sister" Zidane lost his temper and threw a header to the chest of the defender, so he was ejected minutes before the final whistle. Here is how one of the biggest in the game of soccer finished his career

2. Bite! Bite!

It must have been one of the greatest fights in history. Instead, the second confrontation between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield became a circus. Holyfield had defeated Tyson in 1996 to strip him of the World Title of Complete Weights. In an attempt to regain his title, another fight was fixed for June 28, 1997.

It was in the the third round of this fight that "Iron Mike" bit his opponent's left ear and was reprimanded. Seconds later, Tyson clunged at Holyfiel's right ear until a piece was removed, which was found in the ring and surgically restored. Tyson was disqualified, lost three million dollars and his license to fight was withdrawn

3. Dive Incident and the Pool of AIDS

It was the ninth preliminary dive from the three meter trampoline at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul when Greg Louganis, the best diver on the planet, hit the board with his head and fell into the pool, which became red with blood. Days later, the American won his second gold medal in the event. In 1995, Louganis was declared to have AIDS and is believed to have carried the virus from the competition in 1988.

4. The Fanatic

During the 90s, the rivalry between tennis players Steffi Graf and Monica Seles took a bloody tinge. On April 30, 1993, during the Hamburg tournament, Seles, number one in the world ranking, was stabbed in the back (in full game against the German) by Gunter Parche, a fan of Steffi, who when arrested said that He wanted to get rid of Seles, so that Steffi Graf, the now wife of Andre Agassi, would once again be the best in the world. Seles retired after 2 years5

5. Kungfu Master

Eric Cantona was privileged to kick the ball, but the most memorable image of the Frenchman was the day he kicked an amateur. On January 25, 1995, Manchester United visited Crystal Palace. After receiving a red card, Matthew Simmons ran 11 rows in the grandstand to insult the Red Devil player, to which Cantona responded with a spectacular flying kick. It was the first time that a footballer attacked a sympathizer in full game

6. What the F$CK?!

The Brazilian athlete Vanderlei Cordero de Lima was intercepted by Cornelius Horan in full marathon of the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. Cordero marched first at the height of 32km, when from the crowd an Irishman leapt to block him and stop him . This interruption cost him the first position which he would have conveniently taken if the unfortunate incident never happened. He was only able to get rid of the attacker by witht the help of the public after having been overtaken by two competitors, so he had to settle for the bronze medal, despite the appeal of the Brazilian Olympic Committee to be given the gold.

7. Suspended for Life

During a qualifying match for the 90 World Cup in Italy, played at the Maracana stadium in Brazil, the Chilean national team goalkeeper, Roberto "Condor" Rojas, fell to the grass after an amateur fired a flare in his direction. The keeper pretended to have been beaten and cut his forehead with a razor blade that he kept in his uniform. The game was suspended for lack of guarantees, but the images of the game revealed that everything was a sham. Rojas was suspended for life

8. The Most Tragic Birthday

Britannie Cecil, a hockey fan, attended an NHL game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames teams to celebrate her birthday. Everything was fine until a shot by a player of the Blue Jackets, at more than 70 miles per hour, was diverted, took height, overcame the protective barrier and hit the head of the little girl, who was sitting in line 19. Although the little girl was treated immediately, the blow was so severe that she had to be taken to the hospital where she died two days after the accident due to a skull fracture. She died almost 48 hours after being beaten, at 5:15 p.m. on March 18, 2002

9. I'll Make it!

The women's marathon made its appearance in the Olympic program in Los Angeles 1984. It was won by the American Joan Benout who crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds. Out of nowhere appeared the figure of the runner Gabriela Andersson, from Switzerland, who in a deplorable physical condition, practically dehydrated, walked the last 400 meters of the test almost falling and making a supernatural effort to conclude the test. It was amazing to see the way Andersson accomplished her task, with the last breath, almost faltering and occupying the position 37 of the competition.

10. Like a Puppy

The Sydney 2000 Olympic pool was the stage where the swimmer Eric Moussambambani, of Equatorial Guinea, gave one of the most amazing exhibitions in the 100 meters test. During his heat eliminatory, he appeared at the pool with an "elegant" blue swimsuit because the other competitors that would participate were disqualified for false starts. Moussambani showed his "great" technique and finished his tie in just under two minutes (1: 52.22), showing a great fatigue in the last 20 meters in which he looked desperate and exhausted, as if he were drowning.
