Spanish football world is in shock. José Antonio Reyes, former national player and Pro player with Real Madrid and Arsenal FC has died in a car accident.

José Antonio Reyes was fatally injured in a car accident. This confirmed by his former club, FC Sevilla. The 35-year-old died in a collision with another vehicle near his hometown of Seville on Saturday. Recently, Reyes was in the second Spanish league at UD Extremadura in action.

Reyes started his career with Sevilla and moved to Arsenal in January 2004 for €20m. With the Londoners Reyes won the Premier League (2004) and the FA Cup (2005). Other stations of the winger were, among others, Real Madrid, with whom he became Spanish champions in 2007, Atletico Madrid, Benfica Lisbon and Espanyol Barcelona.

In addition, Reyes won the Europa League five times, twice with Atletico (2010, 2012), three times with Sevilla (2014, 2015, 2016). For the Spanish national team Reyes scored four goals in 22 games.
