Manchester United are expected to give Jesse Lingard a one-year extension option and the reason is to sell him to the the interested team. Lingard is from the Manchester United youth team and he has gradually increased his chances of playing since the 2014-15 season. However, his growth was below expectations, Lingard was unable to compete in the English Premier League (EPL) and European Champions League this season.

Lingard was likely to leave the team this coming summer and Manchester United have made Sancho their top priority. Accordingly, a plan was made to dispose of several players in order to raise fund for the transfer and Lingard was one of them.

It is reported that he is attracted by teams such as Aston Villa, West Brom and also Celtic of Scotland. Man United plan to offer a one-year extension option to prevent Lingard from leaving the team on a free agent. United will extend the contract with Lingard until 2022, After that they will sell Lingard in January transfer or after the season ends as Lingard is estimated to be valued around €12 Million.
