Brazilian striker Robinho was once one of the world's most prominent players, Robinho has now turned 36 but deeds from his heyday still haunt him. An appeals court has upheld a nine-year prison sentence for Robinho.

The prison sentence is due to the fact that Robinho back in 2013, when he was active in AC Milan participated in a rape. The incident is said to have happened at a nightclub where Robinho and a friend were part of a rape of a young woman along with other men.

In 2017, the Brazilian received the sentence of nine years for the first time, and now an appeal court has reached the same conclusion that the former world star should go to prison.

Back in October, the former national team player was pressured to leave his club Santos as a result of the rape case when the club's sponsors wanted him away.

According to media, the TV station Globo Sports has shown footage where Robinho comments on the episode in 2013.
