Dozens of CSKA Moscow supporters are known to be injured when they will watch the Russian club compete in the third match of the 2018/19 Champions League against AS Roma. The cause of a number of these supporters was injured due to the occurrence of escalator damage at a subway station in the city of Rome, Italy.

On the third Champions League matchday that brought AS Roma to CSKA Moscow at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday (10/24/2018) early morning local time, the home side won 3-0 at CSKA Moscow. AS Roma excelled through goals scored by Edin Dzeko (30 ', 43') and Cengiz Under (50 ').

Unfortunately for CSKA Moscow, the defeat added to the sadness of their fans who came far from Russia. Because, before the match began dozens of CSKA Moscow fans had a terrible accident. Launching from Gizmodo, around 20 CSKA Moscow fans experienced an accident when they saw their favorite club competing against AS Roma in the Champions League. Twenty fans were injured due to escalator damage at the metro station in Rome's Piazza Repubblica.

The accident was recorded by someone who was also at the location during the incident. He then uploaded it on Twitter. In the video recording, it was seen that dozens of people were on an escalator who suddenly experienced an error and drove down fast.

Some people who were next to other escalators tried to grab the hand of the person on the broken escalator to save the CSKA Moscow fans.

Related to the cause of the accident, a spokesman for Rome's fire department, Luca Search said he did not know the exact cause of the damage to the escalator. But they reported that there was one person who was seriously injured. A number of CSKA Moscow supporters suffered injuries after falling from a fairly high distance and some of them were pinned on the steps made of iron.

The Mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi immediately acted quickly by visiting the scene and expressing his empathy for the accident. He also added that from eyewitness accounts, the supporters had jumped up and down and danced on an escalator.
