Playing one club with suadara alone is common and often happens. But what happens if two siblings have to clash in a different team jersey? Even when they have to defend a different country?
Complicated indeed, even their relationships often have to be tenuous even though in the end they return to harmony as usual. Here are the brothers who become rivals in football.
Kolo Toure dan Yaya Toure
Although both defended the same country, Kolo and Yaya defended two opposing clubs which were rivals in the race for the league title. Yaya is a mainstay of Manchester City while Kolo defends Liverpool. The two first met in 2015 when Manchester City met Kolo.
Taulant Xhaka dan Granit Xhaka
The Xhaka brothers are siblings, have the same mother and father. But unique, they both chose different national teams. Although born in Switzerland, Taulant prefers to defend the Albanian national team. While the younger brother still chose to defend Switzerland. Relations between Swiss and Albanian citizens are indeed close. Even many of the Swiss national team players were born in Albania. Taulant and Granit finally clashed for the European Cup 2016 when Switzerland and Albania joined the same group.
Kevin Prince Boateng dan Jerome Boateng
These two sisters are brothers of a male father. But so, Price Boateng prefers to defend the Ghana national team. While Jerome chose to defend the German national team. Despite frequent clashes at International matches, the two still got along even though their relationship was tenuous when Kevin-Prince sent a hard tackle on Ballack which left Ballack absent for Germany's national team in PD 2010. Jerome was angry at Kevin-Price saying Kevin indeed deserving of a red card. The older brother also felt offended by the words of the brother. But their relationship improved again after the Germany vs Ghana match in the 2010 World Cup. It did not take long, Kevin and Jerome again clashed at the 2014 World Cup.
