Alexander Hleb Returns To His Home

Still remember with Alexander Hleb? The former Arsenal and Barcelona star has just returned to his old club, Bate Borisov, for the fifth time !

Hleb, who had uniformed Arsenal three seasons in 2005 to 2008, was announced as Bate's new player on Thursday (22/3/2018) local time. He returned to the club that raised his name. Alexander Hleb signed a contract with BATE, wrote the official Twitter Bate.

For Hleb, this became the fifth time he joined Bate. Previously he had defended the Belarussian club in the 1999-2000 season, 2012-2013, 2015 and last 2016.

Even so, Hleb can be quite shining with Bate. In four periods in Yellow-Blue uniform, he always won.

Hleb, who also played for Barcelona from 2008 to 2012, collected five Belarusian Premier League titles in 1999, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Hleb's decision to return to Bate could not be separated from his intention to retire at the end of the season. On May 1, the player who won the Champions League with Barca will be 37 years old.

"This season will be the last of my career, I really want to end it with a sweet note: win a national trophy with Bate, qualify for the Champions League group phase, and help the team," Hleb told the Daily Mail.
