Suarez felt he 'deserved more respect' from Barcelona last summer and has revealed more details into the conversations with club chiefs that left him angry at their reasoning for forcing him out.

Ronald Koeman succeeded Quique Setien and, backed by former president Josep Maria Bartomeu, made it clear to Suarez that he would not be part of his plans going forward.

Luis Suarez won everything during his days at Barcelona, becoming the Blaugrana's second-best goalscorer in history, behind only Lionel Messi. However, despite all of this, the manner in which he left, or should we say forced out of, the Camp Nou suggests that he was not seen as a legend by the higher-ups.

"What really annoyed me was being told that I was old and that I couldn't play at the top level anymore, that I couldn't play at the level of a big team. That's what upset me," Suarez told the French magazine.
