UEFA's first man, Alexander Ceferin, still does not want to support the use of VAR technology in European competitions. According to him, this technology has several good sides, but also a lot of ambiguities, which in the future must be solved.

He believes that the football community must be more familiar with the use of video judges, and announced that its people in charge will work hard to introduce new rules, in order not to be the undisputed penalties of Serbia against Switzerland at the World Cup in Russia.

"The VAR has not assured me yet. My opinion is that this technology has a lot of ambiguity. We do not know if a judge has to look at the tape or not? Who decides? Those who are on the hill or on the field? People who see the sword do not understand what is happening. Not even sports commentators understand. What do judges see? What if a line judge raises the flag and the main player interrupts the game, then the tape show that the player was not offside? "The UEFA's first man asks, and continues: There is a lot of clues, but we know that we have to bring it in as fast as possible our competitions. The first man of the judges, Roberto Rosseti, has the task of perfecting this system, and when we are ready, we will also launch it. More situations have to be introduced to apply this technology, because we all saw how Serbia did not get a clear penalty against Switzerland at the World Cup in Russia, and Croatia for the much lesser foul received the most severe punishment, "Ceferin concluded.

According to announcements, the use of VAR technology in the UEFA competitions will begin next year, ie from the quarterfinal Champions League matches.
