Former UEFA president and French soccer legend Michel Platini in an interview with Leipziger voiced his opinion on VAR technology.

- I know FIFA and it is important for them to find a job that is statistically appropriate to them. VAR has not brought much justice to football. Viewing the video can help deciding whether the ball has passed the goal line or in the offside situation, Platini said.

While he was in charge of UEFA, he was against the VAR to be introduced into football, and as a reason he now listed cases from the World Cup final between France and Croatia.

- When France scored the first goal, there was no foul, and with the penalty spot for France, the VARD referee called the headman, who was a kind of "doll". The question was whether there was a hand from the Croatian player, who was in place so that he could not see the ball after the French player missed. Why are the main judges behind VAR, because their "back coat" is so, the judges are always on the side that feeds them, concluded Platini.

Michel Platini has been expelled from football forums after being accused of a corruption affair over Qatar's election to host the World Cup in 2022.
