- Lack of Reliable Striker
Since Ronaldo left, Real Madrid didn't bring any striker who could score in any situation just like Ronaldo did in the last 9 seasons. Whenever Real Madrid found themselves weak in a game, Ronaldo rescued. But now there is no striker who can do clinical finishes. Asensio is a good player but Lopetegui not using his ability to change the game. Asension is a 2nd half player and he can make an impact if he comes as a substitute. First choice striker Benzema is just being a joke because he even didn't make a shot on target in last 5 games. Bale can make difference but you can't put a bet on him as you can't imagine when he will be injured. There is no reliable striker who can change the game when the team need as Ronaldo did. I believe vicious have good scoring capacity but he is not getting enough chance to play. Seriously Real Madrid lack of positive and hunger striker like Ronaldo.
2. Too much rotation - the weak managerial ability
It seems Lopetegui loves too much rotation in the field but the fact is what he did against CSKA shows he is just making shit decisions. I was sure Odriozola to start against CSKA as a left back but what he did was a bad surprise. He played new guy even he didn't have Ramos and Marcelo. More surprisingly, Lopetegui decided to bench Modric. That was a horrible decision. When top players not available to play your team than you can bench a player like Modric. Kross and Modric could make good communication together and can create more chances. This type of needless rotation will not work ever.
3. More position without a counter attack.
If you remember Real Madrid playing style under Zidane time and if you compare with now, there is the total difference. Real Madrid is known for fast, long crossing counter attack but now as I said in my last post, we can see the tiki-taka version 2 in Real Madrid playing style. If you don't have a reliable striker, you can't win matches by position, you can't break the opponent defence. There is no difference between our playing style and Germany playing style at the time of the World Cup. With 70%+ position, 20+ shots and still you only produce 4 shots on targets with no goals and still you playing most of the time at wings and not trying counter attacks or middle to middle shot than you are wasting 90 minutes. I noticed after the arrival of Lopetegui Real Madrid playing balls a lot of time at wings and not playing to the middle. We have to stop playing on wings almost all the time and need to try middle to middle shots and counter attacks.
