Italy failed to make in final four of Nations League as the result ended 0-0 in a must-win match for them. Though they played intended game from the start, they missed some easy chances on their dominated game. With this result, Portugal advanced to final four from group 3 and Poland relegated to league B.

Italy hosted Portugal and they looked like determined for what they want from the start but failing to convert opportunities in goal cost them UNL final four. Italy have had some good chances in the 1st half, with Immobile missed easy strikes and Bonucci failed to strike free header in 36th minutes. The game was so boring for me as Portugal played worst than what expected and Italy missed promising chances. Portugal better play came in 76th minutes when they put some pretty passes and made pressure to Italy's defence, Carvalho shoot from edge of the area which Donnarumma make save in low to his right for Portugal corner. Dominance can't win matches if you misuse the chances. The victory wouldn't be undeserved for Azzurri as they were the better team on the pitch but they lack final touch that cost them everything.

With this result, Italy set another negative record of failing to register a win in six home matches in a row for the first time in history. The last home victory for them was in the world cup qualifier when they beat Israel by 1-0 on 5 September 2017.
