The 32nd Edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has come and gone with Algeria emerging champions. Awards winners have been named too.

With the expansion of the AFCON to 24 teams, Egypt 2019 has seen 102 goals scored, the most at a single tournament in the competition’s history.

List of Award Winners:

Champions: Algeria

Algeria are crown Champions of Africa maintaining a 100% record with 7 wins, 0 draw and 0 loss.

Runners-up: Senegal (W-5 D-0 L-2)

Third place: Nigeria (W-5 D-0 L-2)

Fourth place: Tunisia (W-1 D-4 L-2

Top Scorer:

Odion Ighalo (Nigeria)

Super Eagle's forward Odiong Ighalo fired home his fifth(5th) goal of the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 against Northern Counterpart Tunisia in Cairo on Wednesday as they fight for a third place finish.

His goal was all that was needed to separate both sides.

He was two goals clear of his closest challengers; Riyad Mahrez(Algeria), Adam Ounas(Algeria), Cédric Bakambu(DR Congo) and Sadio Mane(Senegal).

Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament:

Rais M’bolhi (Algeria)

The Algeria Safe-hands conceded only two(2) goals ( against Ivory Coast at the quarter finals and Nigeria at the semi finals) throughout the tournament, keeping 5 clean sheets.

AFCON 2019 Final Man of the Match:

Rais M’bolhi (Algeria)

After pulling some super saves no one can dispute the fact that he was the force why the scoreline remain the same after the 2nd minute goal by Algeria.

Best Player of the Tournament:

Ismaël Bennacer (Algeria)

The former Arsenal youth player is currently at Empoli, but is set to sign for AC Milan this summer.

He was also named the young best player of the tournament.

Although he never found the net throughout the championship, Bennacer played a key role in his side emerging as African champions for the first time since 1990.
