My journey around Nasarawa State sport facilities continues all thanks to Scorum for the encouragement and to all lovers of local so say thank you for the support.

The Nasarawa U-13 football competition is on going.

The competition is made up of 20 teams from different parts of the state to battle out for the 1st position. The 20 teams is being split into 5 groups with 4 teams in each group.

Venue for all the games is the Nasarawa State stadium location in the state capital.

This competition aim is to discover young talents and enrolled them into better academy.

Each match kickoff at 2:30 pm Nigeria time an hour after the children return from school. It's stressful on those guys but passion and the crown that lays ahead overturned the stress.

Each half of the game is 30 minutes.

I will bring to you the review of yesterday's game between Dunama Academy vs UBA Vidic.

The sun was still heating up the state as the temperature was still very high at about 36°C as both teams converge at the Nasarawa State stadium.

This match was such an interesting one as both teams battle out for maximum points as the young footballers were at top of their game.

Just 10' into the game Dunama Academy had to force their first Sub. as the defense line was just so unstable.

The first half ended with a 0-0 score line.

The first 5 minutes into the second half gave Dunama Academy something to celebrate about as they took the lead from a brilliant header by the player in jersey number 7.

UBA Vidic had a great opportunity to balance the game in the game few minutes after as they were awarded a penalty but they loose as the player volley the ball over the bar.

The game ends with a 1-0 score line in favour of Dunama Academy.

Eye catching moment:

Players on the bench has to give up their football boots for their poor team mate as some of the players couldn't afford one.

The tournament also gave room for female referees as we had one female assistant referee for this game.

No Seat For Players

Players awaiting substitution didn't have where to sit down except the floor. Which was not a good option. Hopefully the state government will try and improve the state of the stadium.
