January's transfer window has no history of containing as large trades as this summer's ditto. It is most often if holes need to be closed after injured players or other emergency that the big wallet is found out at this time of the season.

Despite this, rumors of many major deals always abound in the January window and this year is no exception. According to The Athletic, Arsenal are looking for reinforcements for the defensive midfielder, with the Gunners proving to be sparsely occupied when neither Thomas Partey nor Granit Xhaka are available. Therefore, Arsenal must have selected a handful of players that they will try to pick up before the window closes.

They are reportedly Wolverhampton's Ruben Neves, Aston Villas Douglas Luiz, RB Leipzig's Tyler Adams and Lyon's Bruno Guimaraes. Aston Villa's Brazilian Douglas Luiz in particular is interesting for Arsenal, as the London club have been with him for a long time. Luiz may be hard to wrestle free of Villa's claws, as he is a regular on Gerrard's team, but the Brazilian has only 18 months left on his current contract.
