It is now well documented that FC Barcelona is in an extremely difficult financial situation, and therefore the club will reportedly pick up cheaper alternatives to the superstars that the club is usually used to being able to pick up. One of these cheaper alternatives is according to Mundo Deportivo and BeIN Sports Chelsea player Marcos Alonso.

Alonso was previously a key player for the Royal Blues from West London, but the Spanish left-back this season looks to be the third choice after Ben Chilwell and Emerson Palmieri. Marcos Alonso has only played three games for Chelsea this season, and the former starter has been completely out of the squad for most of "The Blues" games. FC Barcelona reportedly want another backup for Jordi Alba, after Junior Firpo has played matches as both right-back and center-back this season.

Chelsea brought Marcos Alonso to Fiorentina back in 2016, and the Spaniard has since played 116 Premier League matches and won the FA Cup, Premier League and Europa League with the club.
