The eternally scandalous and entertaining Mario Balotelli is unexpectedly on his way back to the Premier League.

“WHY ALWAYS ME”.

The quote comes from former Manchester City star Mario Balotelli's t-shirt, after scoring a goal in the Manchester derby against the slaughter of Sir Alex Ferguson's troops back in 2011.

The t-shirt is one of the examples of an entertaining footballer's controversial time in Premier League, and now it is confirmed that English football fans can once again look forward to the flamboyant Italian on the turf in the top English tier.

The Spanish media AS writes that the ever-famous and money-rich Newcastle is looking to pick up the 31-year-old former top striker.

Mario Balotelli is currently playing in Turkish Adana Demirspor, and Turkish club president Murat Sancak confirms to the media that Newcastle have approached regarding a transfer for the striker.

The president explains that although Balotelli is happy with the club, his release clause can be triggered.

- He has a buy-out clause, but I can not reveal the details of his contract. Balotelli is very happy to be here, and will not leave the club unless he is ordered to do so, the president explains to AS according to Tipsbladet.

Balotelli has scored eight goals in 20 games for his Turkish club, and his contract expired in 2024. In the event of a potential Newcastle transfer, he will, among other things, compete with newly acquired Chris Wood, who joined from Burnley.
